For the first time in history, party parliamentarians are accused by the court of “not telling the truth to the Greek people.”

For the first time in the history of the country, members of a political party are accused by justice of not telling the Greek people the truth and being able to get elected by “deceiving the voters.” This would sound grotesque to those who understand how Greek “democracy” works, but not in this case.

Requests to lift immunity from 11 deputies of the Spartans party were sent to parliament through the Ministry of Justice by the Supreme Court prosecutor Giorgi Adilini, so that they would appear and testify as suspects in committing criminal acts.

This event takes place in the context of a preliminary investigation carried out personally by the prosecutor of the Supreme Court, following reports from party chairman Vasilis Stygas.

The Spartan deputies are invited by Giorgia Adilini as suspects to give explanations regarding voter fraud in the recent parliamentary elections, because, as explained in the indictment document addressed to the President of Parliament, they belonged to the Spartan party led by Vasilios Stygas, but in reality enjoyed the support of and the absolute leadership of Ilias Kasidiaris.

“But the truth was that they were chosen by Ilias Kasidiaris and not by Vasilios Stygas, that thanks to the support of the former they were elected members of parliament, and they recognized the aforementioned as their real leader, who led them from prison.

In fact, even before the elections, they developed a plan according to which, immediately after their election, they would overthrow Vasilis Stygas and appoint a new party leader, Charalambos Katsivardas, completely controlled by Ilias Kasidiaris.”– indicates, in particular, the prosecutor of the Supreme Court in his document sent to the chairman of parliament.

At the same time, the Supreme Court prosecutor emphasizes that “In addition, the amount of state subsidies will be frozen, for which the Spartans party has already received an amount of about 40,000 euros.”

In other words, all of the above in effect offered the Spartans party as a new disguise for the political party of Ilias Kasidiaris, making it easier for him to circumvent the restrictions on the right to be elected established by the electoral legislation, in particular article 32 of decree 26/2012, in force after the replacement (dubious from the point of view of the Greek constitution) paragraph 1 of article 102 of law 5019/2023 and its supplement with article 35 of law 5043/2023.”

As part of the investigation, the president of the Spartans party, Vassilis Stygas, was twice summoned to testify before the Supreme Court prosecutor Giorgia Adilini.

The reason for the investigation was what happened in parliament when, during a debate at a plenary session of parliament about the fires, V. Stigas found himself sitting alone on a parliamentary bench. “The gentlemen who are absent now are being directed and instructed by foreign centers. Extra-parliamentary centers,” Stigas said.

“I say this with courage because of the opinion that I have always held as a Greek citizen. These foreign centers are like the Greek mafia or Don Corleone, who say how and what they will do and when they will do it.

We have huge problems, fires, Greek-Turkish relations, identity cards and much more, and some people choose this situation to do their business. I will do what I have always done. I am an honest and deeply democratic person,” – Stigas said then.
