AADE: digital issuance of tax information and in case of debt

As of yesterday (24/10/2023), the Independent Revenue Office is introducing a new digital application that makes it much easier for citizens to carry out transactions, saving significant time in their daily lives by avoiding around 200,000 visits to the Revenue Office per year.

Now, according to a joint decision by Deputy Finance Minister Haris Theocharis and AADE Governor Giorgos Pitsilis, taxpayers will be able to digitally receive the payment confirmation required for their transactions without visiting the tax office:

  • To issue it, a portion of their adjusted debt must be deducted from the amount recovered.
  • It is issued for any lawful use and there are debts under suspension of collection.
  • Issued to collect funds for existing debt that is in the stage of suspension of collection, and the entire amount subject to collection is withheld within the amount of the applicant’s total adjusted debt.
  • It is issued for the transfer of real estate or the creation of a pledge on it due to force majeure, while the amount is deducted from the adjusted debt.

It is important to note that it has now become much easier to obtain an information certificate on the transfer of real estate in the presence of an outstanding debt, since, in addition to the amount of outstanding debt, the provision of a certificate is also tied to the amount of taxes paid annually by the taxpayer.

Thus, even if the debt exceeds the stipulated thresholds, an information certificate is provided if the taxpayer pays up to 120% of the amount owed annually, ensuring consistency for the taxpayer. In addition, to ensure security, authenticity and identification of transactions, the content of the application in the digital application with the addition of fields such as:

  • QR code for authentication proof of relevance.
  • The unique registration number (RIN) in myDATA of the document for which recovery is being requested.
  • ATTACK* a real estate object for the transfer of which a proof of information content is issued.

Taxpayers can obtain a new digital proof of relevance through the myAADE digital portal at myAADE.gov.gr / Εφαρμογές / Φορολογικές Υπηρεσίες / Ενημερότητα / Έκδοση Αποδεικ τικού Ενημερότητας / Είσοδος στην εφαρμογή.

AADE Director Georgios Pitsilis stated: “This is another very important step aimed at facilitating the transactions of taxpayers. With the provision of such services, the procedures for issuing renewals are significantly accelerated, even in cases where the applicant has debts to the state. Every day we take a step forward in serving citizens and businesses. Each “The battle we have won is time won for citizens, businesses and our services. We are determined to continue to work to reduce bureaucracy for the benefit of the public interest. We continue to remove bureaucratic barriers, offering citizens better and better digital services.”

*Term ATAK is an abbreviation for Property Identification Number. In particular, this number is available in a special settlement note of the Unified Real Estate Tax (ETAK). In addition, the property identification number is also indicated on the property tax return, if issued, as well as on Schedule E of the return. It will also appear on Form E9 if any changes have been made or deleted to the property details.
