On Thursday, October 19, US military bases were attacked in Syria and Iraq.
How reports FoxNews, drones struck the US base in Syria Al-Tanf, and a missile attack occurred on another US base in Syria – Conoco. In Iraq, the US military intercepted three attack drones. A US defense official said the drones were targeting the US base of Al-Tanf, located near Syria’s shared border with Iraq and Jordan.
Iran-backed Lebanese TV channel Al Mayadeen reported on Thursday that two US military bases in Syria had come under attack. In addition to the drone attack on the Al-Tanf base, the TV channel reported a missile attack on the Conoco base in the countryside of Syria’s northern Deir ez-Zor region.
In Iraq, the United States intercepted three attack drones targeting two different military bases, two US defense officials confirmed. US Central Command later confirmed the attack.
Two drones targeted the Ain al-Assad air base in western Iraq, where American troops are stationed. Minor injuries were reported among coalition forces. A third drone targeted a base in northern Iraq. No casualties were reported.
On Thursday, a US destroyer shot down three land-based missiles and several drones likely launched by Houthi militants from Yemen.
