Germany has sent troops to Cyprus that could be used to take part in naval operations in the Gaza Strip or Lebanon.
How reports BILD, in particular, a special unit of the German federal police has been mobilized, which is engaged in the release of hostages. Bundeswehr military transport aircraft are also concentrated in the region. The German government said:
“We are at a low start and are ready for any options.”
Potential goals of a possible operation are the release of German hostages from Hamas captivity, the evacuation of all German citizens from the Gaza Strip or Lebanon.
