Greek police have strengthened security at facilities associated with Israel – embassies, company representative offices, etc., increasing their presence in the area of the Israeli Embassy in Athens, due to the ongoing war in the Middle East.
The operation also involves state security and intelligence services, which, in addition to Israeli missions or enterprises in Greece, are called upon to secure potential targets from attacks by sympathizers of one of the parties to the conflict.
According to the state television and radio company ERTspecial attention is paid to camps hosting migrants and refugees from the Middle East, as well as Palestinian community centers.
On Sunday evening (8/10) a rally was held in Syntagma Square in the center of Athens. Protesters burned an Israeli flag, and three foreigners were arrested and later released.
