To receive further US military support, Ukraine will have to carry out reforms – a list of them the US authorities sent to the Ukrainian Prime Minister, the President’s Office and the donor coordination platform.
The letter describes in detail what Ukraine must do in the next three months, six months, a year and a year and a half. For example, in the short term:
- Introduce additional members to the supervisory boards of Ukrenergo and Naftogaz, create a supervisory board for the new Ukroboronprom, strengthen the independence of NABU and SAP. And in the case of SAP, there is also its independence from the Prosecutor General.
- Limit the scope of activity of the SBU to counterintelligence, anti-espionage work, the fight against terrorism and cybercrime.
- Conduct a integrity check of Supreme Court judges and select new ones with the participation of international experts.
- Reforms in the Ministry of Defense, among other things, regarding the organization of procurement.
During a year, writes edition “Country”, it is necessary to introduce market prices for electricity and gas, despite the fact that in Ukraine, due to martial law, there is a moratorium on increasing utility tariffs for the population.
