Market Pass2: Platform Opened – Everything You Need to Know

The application process for the Market Pass financial support program for Greek residents began today. The subsidy for the purchase of food and essential goods covers a three-month period: August, September and October 2023.

Citizens can submit applications either through the digital platform vouchers.gov.gr, or through KEP. from today, Friday 15 September 2023 to Tuesday 31 October 2023

It is noted that Beneficiaries who have already received financial assistance in previous months do not need to reapply.

Answers to frequently asked questions:

1. Who are the beneficiaries of the Market Pass?
The beneficiaries are all Greek tax residents who have filed their 2022 tax return on time and whose annual gross income does not exceed:

• 16,000 euros for a citizen who is unmarried, or widowed, or living independently,
• €24,000 for a married citizen or married persons (including parties to a cohabitation agreement) filing a separate tax return and without children. The threshold amount increases by 5,000 euros for each dependent child, other dependent, family member,
• €24,000 for a single parent family and increases by €5,000 for each dependent child.

In addition, the total value of the property should not exceed 250,000 euros for unmarried, widowed or separated citizens, and the amount of 400,000 euros for married or having entered into a cohabitation agreement.

2. What is the amount of assistance?
The assistance amounts to 10% of monthly purchases up to €1,000, starting at €22 per month for single-person households and increasing by €10 for each additional household member. The above purchase limit does not apply to beneficiaries with more than six (6) dependent children.

3. What is the application process and deadline?
Applications are due from today, Friday 15 September 2023, until Tuesday 31 October 2023. Due to the extension of the deadline for filing tax returns, which was provided in the previous period, for certain categories of citizens the deadline for filing applications for the Market Pass may differ slightly. Anyway The final application date is Tuesday, October 31, 2023.

The exception is for beneficiaries of the previous Market Pass, for whom re-application is not required. The system will perform internal ex officio identification and credit the amount to the previously selected medium (bank account or digital debit card). However, if for any reason a person wants to correct the IBAN details of his bank account or change the medium to which the assistance will be credited (for example, from a bank account to a digital debit card and vice versa), he must submit an application on the platform strictly from Friday September 15 to Monday September 25, 2023. It is emphasized that if you do not make any request for data change or option change within the above period, help will not be lost. The amount will be credited to options that were valid for the previous Market Pass.

4. Do I need to reapply every month?
No. The application is submitted only once, after which the assistance is automatically credited to the recipient’s intangible digital card or account.
