All Baltic countries have banned entry to cars with Russian license plates

From 10 a.m. today, September 13, the entry of cars with Russian registration into all Baltic countries is closed.

Thus, writes “European Truth”, referring to Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkn, the recommendations of the European Commission are being implemented:

“From today, Estonia is banning the entry of all vehicles registered in Russia. They are not invited here to enjoy the privileges that freedom can offer until Ukraine achieves victory. Because the European Commission has just clarified the current sanctions, and Estonia considers it necessary to use all opportunities “To raise the costs of Russian aggression, we have concluded, in consultation with the Latvian and Lithuanian authorities, that restrictions are effective if sanctions are jointly imposed.”

As ERR, the Estonian National Broadcasting explains, if a vehicle with Russian license plates arrives at a border point, the Tax and Customs Department will carry out the appropriate procedures. The user or owner of the vehicle will have to return to Russia with the car or cross the border without it.

Let us recall that on September 8, the European Commission published clarifications regarding long-standing restrictions on the import and export of goods to or from Russia. They clarified that the ban includes, among other things, cars and some goods, regardless of whether they are personal belongings of travelers.

As before reported our publication, the ban also applies to the import of trailers or semi-trailers for the transportation of any cargo, as well as to the transportation and use of yachts. Upon entering EU Cosmetics, leather and fur products, cameras, suitcases, equipment, semi-precious and precious stones may also be confiscated from citizens of the Russian Federation.
