Electricity: household subsidy for September will be 15 euros per 1000 kWh

The Ministry of Ecology and Energy is trying soften the increase in electricity tariffs for Septemberdeclaring about increasing subsidies.

As announced by the ministry, support measures for electricity tariffs continue. In particular, for September, electricity subsidies at tariffs for the population and for all main and non-main sources of electricity, without regard to income criteria and regardless of the supplier, will be as follows:

1. For monthly consumption up to 500 kWh, the amount of the subsidy is increased compared to the previous month and amounts to 15 euros/MWh or 0.015 euros/kWh. (1.5 cents) This category covers 90% of households in Greece. Recall that in August the subsidy was 10 euros/MWh or 0.01 euros/kWh (1 cent).
2. Those whose monthly consumption exceeds 500 kWh will receive the same support, provided that they reduce their average daily energy consumption by 15% compared to last year.

Vulnerable consumers
For households included in the social tariff for households (Κοινωνικό Οικιακό Τιμολόγιο (ΚΟΤ)), the support is EUR 50/MWh or EUR 0.05/kWh for all consumption and compensates 100% of the increased costs. The amount of the subsidy remains the same as in August.

farmers
For farmers, regardless of the power supply capacity and voltage level, the amount of the subsidy is increased compared to the previous month and amounts to 15 euros/MWh or 0.015 euros/kWh for all monthly consumption. For farmers, the subsidy in August was 10 EUR/MWh or 0.01 EUR/kWh.

The cost of electricity support for households and farmers in September exceeded a total of 21.4 million euros.
