Sad: famous actresses spent the last years of their lives in a mental hospital

They are known, remembered and loved by many, they had thousands of fans and many interesting roles, their lives were rich and vibrant. However, not everyone knows how sad and tragic their last years have been.

Stately, daring, reckless – this is how the audience remembered Lucien from Red Kalina. And after filming, Tatyana Gavrilova started having problems in her personal life, which she tried to drown out with alcohol, but most importantly, she was frustrated by the complete lack of offers. Against this background, the actress ended up in a psychiatric hospital and soon turned into an old woman – with an extinct look, shaved bald, toothless, able to move only in a wheelchair. At that time, she was not even sixty … She died in 2000, alone, in a ward for the terminally ill.

Lively, cheerful and full of optimism, the “main grandmother of Soviet cinema” began to lose her memory by the age of 80. She then developed suspicion and persecution mania. In the last years of her life, the actress no longer recognized anyone; she spent a year and a half in a psychiatric clinic. Next to her was only a housekeeper, who, after the death of Peltzer, got all her property.

Natalia Bogunova

Just a few years after the release of the popular film “Big Break”, Natalia Bogunova, straight from the theater, ended up in a psychiatric hospital, where she was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Unfortunately, the disease progressed, and in the early 90s, the actress finally left the cinema. She died while on vacation. on the Greek island of Crete – one of the attacks was the last.

As it became known later, 65-year-old Natalya Vasilyevna could hardly endure the heat. She became ill. Not knowing the Greek language, the actress, as best she could, tried to attract the attention of the hotel staff. But the employees regarded the behavior of Bogunova as inadequate, calling the police instead of doctors. Precious time was lost, and the actress who was taken to the hospital simply did not have time to help.

Friends and acquaintances of Bogunova claim that for many years she periodically underwent treatment in psychiatric hospitals for schizophrenia. The disease was aggravated by a tragedy – in 2011, the actress lost her only loved one, her mother, who fell out of a window under unclear circumstances.

Donara Mkrtchyan

We remember Frunzik Mkrtchyan’s wife for her role in Leonid Gaidai’s comedy “Prisoner of the Caucasus” – this was her most striking role. Over the next 10 years, the actress still acted in films, but then the diagnosis of schizophrenia put an end to her career. Donara spent the last 25 years of her life in a psychiatric hospital in Armenia, completely unaware that she was seriously ill.

Margarita Nazarova

The black streak in the life of the actress and tiger trainer Margarita Nazarova began in 1964, when her beloved tiger Pursh died, whom the fearless trainer literally fed, pampered in every possible way, rode in a car and even … took with her to restaurants.

In 1970, due to complications during the operation, Nazarova’s husband, trainer Konstantin Konstantinovsky, died. The loss of a loved one became a “control shot” for Margarita’s psyche. She was confused about the facts, claimed that the assistants cut the paws of her tigers and suck their blood.

The tamer began to “slacken”, which was instantly felt by the tigers. On tour in Penza, Nazarova turned her back on the tiger. He immediately attacked the trainer and inflicted such injuries that the doctors unequivocally forbade her to continue performing.

The last years of Margarita’s life were spent in a deep depression: she was treated in a mental hospital, lived as a recluse in her apartment in Nizhny Novgorod. The only son left for France – the last time he visited his mother was 10 years before her death. In November 2005, Margarita Nazarova passed away – in poverty and loneliness.

Subtle and sensitive souls are most often subject to psychotic disorders and psychoses, there is no need to be surprised here. And yet it is a pity that a beautiful and happy at first glance acting life sometimes ends so sadly and unfairly.
