FSB announced the prevention of the murders of Margarita Simonyan and Ksenia Sobchak


According to the Federal Security Service, the murder of the journalist Sobchak and the editor-in-chief of the Rossiya Segodnya media group Simonyan were prepared by members of the Paragraph-88 neo-Nazi group on the instructions of the SBU.

About this today, July 15, informs TASS and other Russian media, with reference to the published information of the Public Relations Center (TsOS) of the FSB:

“The Federal Security Service, together with the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, prevented the Ukrainian special services from preparing the assassination of Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the RT television channel and the Rossiya Segodnya International News Agency. According to reports, the assassination of Ksenia Sobchak was also being prepared.”

The FSB reported that on July 14 in Moscow and the Ryazan region, members of the neo-Nazi group “Paragraph-88” were detained, who carried out reconnaissance at the addresses of work and residence of objects:

“In the course of investigative actions, they confirmed the preparation of assassination attempts on the instructions of the SBU for a reward of 1.5 million rubles for each murder.”

The suspects were arrested on Friday, July 14. During the investigation, the detainees seized a Kalashnikov assault rifle, 90 rounds of ammunition for it, knives, brass knuckles, rubber truncheons, handcuffs, chevrons and flags with Nazi symbols, Nazi literature, as well as communications equipment and computers with information confirming their criminal intentions. The FSB said:

“The UK plans to initiate criminal cases with extremist and terrorist overtones against the detainees.”
