Greeks turn to Airbnb for budget vacation rentals

Search queries for Greek Airbnb visitors have increased by more than 70% this season compared to last year, indicating a recovery in domestic tourism, as highlighted in a related short-term rental platform announcement.

At the same time, Airbnb guests are already organizing their summer holidays in more than 72,000 cities around the world. “People want to travel more than ever. After years of isolation, people tend to spend time outside the walls of the house. Not only are we seeing a significant increase in the number of Greek travelers choosing Airbnb for their summer vacation, but also an evolution in the way Greek tourists travel – they stay longer, look for affordable options and explore new destinations”, says Giacomo Trovato, Airbnb Regional Manager for Southeast Europe.

The most popular accommodation options showcase their favorite properties selected by travelers for their upcoming vacation. Here are the top ten accommodations in Greece, a list of the most desirable accommodations for Greek Airbnb guests.

  1. Cave House, Santorini
  2. Villa with pool, Apokoronas, Chania
  3. Villa, Kathisma Lefkada
