The armed formations that entered the Belgorod region called the operation "successful"

At a press conference in the Sumy region of Ukraine, the participants in the raid in the Belgorod region, fighters of the Russian Volunteer Corps, called it “successful.”

The participants in the raid declared the “success” of the operation. Responsibility for the action was taken by the armed formations, which mainly consist of Russians, but are fighting on the side of Ukraine. The founder of the “Russian Volunteer Corps” Denis Kapustin said:

“The operation is ongoing, that’s how I should say to be honest. It has different phases. We consider phase one as a successful phase.”

Russian authorities say the raiders fired multiple rocket launchers at the houses and dropped bombs from quadcopters. According to the governor of the Belgorod region, as a result of the fighting, 12 civilians were injured, one person died.

According to the Financial Times, the raid participants used American equipment – armored personnel carriers and cargo vans. This was confirmed in the “Russian Volunteer Corps”, without specifying how the cars were received. US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said:

“As a general policy, we have made it clear that we do not support the use of US-made equipment for attacks inside Russia.”
