Construction concern Corinth Canal Corporation said that restoration work is currently underway, and, according to the official work schedule, the canal will be available for navigation from June 1, 2023 to September 30, 2023. From October 1 works will move to the final stage and it is assumed that February 2024 Corinth Canal will return to normal operation.
As Athenskiye Novosti wrote earlier, work on the installation of underwater pillars, which will form a new canal bed, continues at a feverish pace. According to the Greek TV channel ΣΚΑΙ, the builders must meet the schedule, according to which the Corinth Canal should be returned to operation in early summer and be safer than ever for the passage of ships.
