The special traffic measures will take effect from Friday 19 May and will last until Monday 22 May.
Greek police take enhanced road safety measures throughout the territory in connection with the parliamentary elections on 21 Mayto facilitate the movement of citizens, as well as to prevent traffic accidents.
The measures come into force on Friday 19 May and will last until Monday 22 May. They will intensify, peaking during the hours/days of mass vehicle entry and exit into and out of major urban centers.
As stated in the relevant circular: “The Hellenic Police once again reminds all drivers and road users that road safety concerns everyone.”
Due to this ΕΛΑΣ recommends to citizens:
- Before the trip, carry out a technical check of your vehicle and obtain information about the state of the road network and weather conditions.
- Be especially careful and careful while driving, strictly follow the rules of the road.
- Follow the rules (road markings) and follow the instructions of the traffic controllers.
- Do not use mobile phones or other distracting devices while driving.
- Do not drink alcoholic beverages if you are going to drive.
- Use child seats to protect children in the car. At the same time, they must be “fastened” with seat belts.
- When riding motorcycles, wear a helmet.
- Do not overestimate your driving skills and the technical capabilities of personal vehicles.
- Respect and protect passengers and other people, pedestrians, road users.
- Drive your vehicle responsibly and with care.
