The night from Saturday to Sunday in the metropolitan area of Exarchia turned out to be “hot” in every sense – ΜΑΤ employees were attacked twice by hooded men using Molotov cocktails.
Both attacks took place after midnight, within minutes of each other. Initially, an IAT patrol providing security on Harilou Trikoupis Street, where PASOK’s office is located, came under attack. Molotov cocktails flew at him, in response, law enforcement officers used stun grenades. There were no reports of casualties, but a private car parked on Didotu Street (Διδότου) was significantly damaged.
The next attack was directed at the MAT patrol on Kolettis and Zoodohos Pigi streets – the hooded thugs threw Molotov cocktails again, and the police arrested the most active of them. At the same time, passions were also raging on the streets of Navarino and Zavella (Ναυαρίνου και Τζαβέλλα) – garbage cans were set on fire from the actions of unknown people. The truth is that it all ended.
This “stormy night” was already the second – the day before, on Friday, unknown persons in hoods rioted at the Zograf Polytechnic University, also using Molotov cocktails, writes newsbeast.gr.
