New programs for thousands of the unemployed, plus grants for freelancers and businesses

As soon as possible ΔΥΠΑ (former OAED) will announce seven new actions for over 50,000 beneficiaries.

Programs will be funded by NSRF (EKT or PAN) and budget DYPA:

  • Subsidized program for starting a business, employment of young freelancers aged 20 to 44 belonging to marginalized social groups such as Roma in 7 administrative regions.
  • Business Initiative Grants Program involving 3,220 young freelancers aged 30 to 45 in the Least Developed Regions (LDR) and Western Macedonia region with a focus on the digital economy (2nd cycle).
  • Employment program for 10,000 unemployed young people under the age of 29 in the regions of Attica and Central Macedonia (2nd cycle).
  • Work experience program for 3,900 unemployed young people under the age of 29.
  • Special Employment Program for Resin Collectors (Service of the Ministry of Environment and Energy) 3rd cycle.

The following programs are expected to be announced during the next period and will be funded by the Recovery and Stability Fund

  • Comprehensive advanced training/retraining and short-term employment program for 15,000 unemployed people aged 25-45
  • Pilot actions within the framework of the training of the open policy of active employment in four cities for 17,750 unemployed.

Online applications for funding for the new “Business Grants Program to employ 5,000 unemployed people aged 18-66 with a focus on the green economy sector and women’s employment” have begun. The goal of the campaign is to create 5,000 new full-time green jobs in companies that work or will work in the green economy. The grant covers up to 80% of wages and contributions for 15 months, up to 12,264 euros for a new job.

DYPA’s labor subsidy programs are designed for private companies, and generally private sector employers, who regularly engage in economic activity. Companies interested in participating can apply exclusively online:

a) through the DYPA e-services platform (dypa.gov.gr),

b) through the Single Digital Portal of the Greek Government gov.gr at the following link: https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/epikheirematike-drasterioteta/apaskholese-prosopikou/summetokhe-epikheireseon-ergodoton-se-programmata-katartises-anergon.

After applying DYPA confirms that the company meets the conditions, and employment consultants indicate candidates according to the specialty and required qualifications declared by the employer. The employer chooses a beneficiary and proceeds to hire him.
