A convoy of 50 trucks with humanitarian aid left the Attica region for Turkey

More than 110 tons of humanitarian aid, collected by the municipalities of Attica, was sent yesterday morning by 50 vehicles to earthquake-hit Turkey.

The humanitarian mission departed from the SEF Peace and Friendship Stadium on Sunday morning. Cars are loaded with medical materials, blankets, medicines and everything that is so necessary for the affected residents of a neighboring country after the disaster. More than 20,000 blankets, 7.5 tons of medicines, 5 tons of medical equipment, baby diapers, personal hygiene items and many other important and necessary items have been sent.

The departure of the mission took place in the presence of Attica Regional Governor G. Patoulis, Turkish Ambassador to Athens Çağatay Erciyes, Turkish Consul General in Athens Mustafa Somunku, Deputy Regional Governor of the Southern Sector H. Theodoropoulos, All Together PR Director D. Yannakakis, representatives Ministry of Foreign Affairs, authorized regional adviser on volunteering E. Barbajani and other officials. The humanitarian convoy is expected to cross the Greek-Turkish border on Monday morning and head to the material collection warehouses in Raidesto (Tekirdag). To date, more than 110 tons of essential items are shipped. In practice, we express our solidarity and our love to the people of Turkey, to whom we will continue to provide all possible support.”
