The response of the Greeks to the needs of Turkey and Syria for humanitarian assistance continues to be at a high level. Citizens are collecting clothes and essentials to make life easier for all those affected by the catastrophic earthquake.
Nevertheless, photographer Georgios Mutafis, visiting one of the centers where humanitarian aid was collected and sorted, encountered a shocking phenomenon. “People’s aid has turned into garbage,” he writes in his Facebook post, “the help collected for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria has been turned into a dump. This is where the world’s help ends. Shame on you!”.
