Against the background of the intensifying confrontation with Turkey, Greece announces the further strengthening of the country’s navy.
This was stated during his speech at the Skaramanga shipyard in the suburbs of Athens, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. He attended the naming ceremony and incorporation into the Greek Navy of the new, newly built guided missile patrol ship Captain-Lieutenant Vlahakos. Mitsotakis stated:
“History teaches that whoever trespasses the borders will eventually be punished. In the 21st century, there is no room for the imperial visions of other eras. Moreover, there is no room for ambitious troublemakers. The borders of the two countries are blue, not gray.”
The Prime Minister said during his speech that several frigates and anti-submarine helicopters will soon be part of the Greek Navy.
