The news of the death of a 16-year-old boy, hit by a car in the area of Dendropotamos (Thessaloniki) on September 22 while riding a bicycle, caused a wave of grief among his relatives and classmates.
According to hospital sources cited by voria.gr, today the teenager’s death was announced to the family, and his the parents showed greatness of soul and decided to donate their child’s organs.
The accident happened at a crossroads when a young man was hit by a police car. The young man’s father asked the day before to find a witness who could know something about the incident, since there is no evidence yet. It is noted that the traffic accident was not recorded by any surveillance camera, as there is a military camp on the site, where filming is prohibited.
Previously, students from the school where Michalis studied staged a protest in their area, dedicating it to their classmate. A student of the 3rd grade of the lyceum Melina K. “could not stand it” and burst into tears, talking about her dead classmate. “I feel a very heavy sense of loss. We have streets without sidewalks and without traffic lights. Michalis was a wonderful person, very polite and punctual. Therefore, it is difficult to believe that he violated any traffic rules. The car that hit him was probably to blame. But of course, it’s up to the police to figure everything out, although you can’t bring your friend back…,” the young girl stressed, among other things.
