In contrast, the happiest millennials are real estate agents, and Gen Z has the highest satisfaction rate among corporate recruiters. As the study explains, “Generation Z employees are most satisfied with roles that give them the opportunity to create company culture and exert social influence.” In addition, Gen Zers seem to be paying more attention than previous generations to the company climate, as was evident during the so-called Great Exit, when younger employees left their jobs en masse, which they considered toxic.
“In general, Gen Zers are most satisfied working in creative, non-technical jobs. Only two of the ten highest paid jobs for Gen Z employees are in technology, while for other workers there are five,” says Richard Johnson, author of the Glassdoor study. .
According to the study, Gen Xers and Boomers “find satisfaction in roles that require more experience, more responsibility, and broader business influence, such as president and CEO.”
