The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to introduce a visa regime with the Russian Federation from July 1 in the country.
Informed interlocutors of the publication UP in the government report:
“From July 1, the usual visa regime. If a Russian is in Russia, then he goes to the visa center, if he is abroad, then he goes to our embassy or visa center and receives a visa to enter Ukraine.”
On May 26, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky supported a petition to introduce a visa regime for Russian citizens in the country. He instructed Prime Minister Denys Shmygal to work on this issue. The President said that he had sufficient opportunities to bring the idea of introducing a visa regime with the Russian Federation to a positive result.
June 17 Volodymyr Zelensky announcedthat the Cabinet of Ministers must today make this important decision – the Resolution “On the termination of the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Russian Federation on visa-free travel for citizens of Ukraine and the Russian Federation and on the application of certain international treaties between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.”
In accordance with the planned decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, from July 1, 2022, a visa regime for entry for Russian citizens will be introduced.
