It became known who and how much will receive for Easter as an allowance

The Greek government has finally decided on a list of people who will receive as much as 200 euros “for small expenses” before Easter.

Much was said about this help, promising to support the most vulnerable. Initially, the amount of 300 euros was mentioned, by the end of the debate it gradually decreased to 200 euros. Who can claim an unheard of generous gift from the government? Three categories of citizens:

  1. 667,000 low-income pensioners, with an annual taxable income in 2020 of up to 7,200 euros and an annual family income of up to 14,400 euros.
  2. 35,000 uninsured seniors.
  3. 167,000 recipients of disability benefits.

Finance Minister Christos Staikouras announced that everyone belonging to one of these categories will receive 200 euros. In addition, they promise support to recipients of the minimum guaranteed income, who will see a double monthly payment on their accounts, and to those receiving child benefits – the amount will increase by one and a half times, writes newsbreak.gr.

Undoubtedly, the attempts made by the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis to support the population in the conditions galloping inflation and impetuous rising prices do not even approximate the scale of the financial problems faced by households and businesses. But, as the Russian proverb says, “at least a tuft of wool from a black sheep!”.
