Anna Netrebko: the opera star comes to Athens

Opera stars Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov will arrive in the capital of Greece to give a grand gala concert here.

Fans will be presented with a concert program from Giuseppe Verdi’s arias. The cultural event is organized by the National Opera (Εθνική Λυρική Σκηνή) and will take place at the Panathinaikos Stadium on 10 July.

Anna and Yusif will perform arias from the operas Aida, Attila, Troubadour, Nabucco, Othello, Don Carlos, The Force of Destiny. Almost all of these works by Verdi are in the singer’s repertoire. Anna sang “The Force of Destiny” on stage at London’s Covent Garden, “Troubadour” at the Arena di Verona. And in September, the singer made her debut in the title role of “Aida” in New York’s The Metropolitan.

Anita Rachvelishvili (Georgian opera singer, mezzo-soprano), who already charmed the Greeks last year with her performance on the stage of the Roman Agora (Ρωμαϊκή Αγορά), will also perform at this stellar Verdi gala.
