To support public catering enterprises will give 330 million euros

An aid of 330 million euros for the provision of working capital to catering enterprises for the purchase of raw materials for the first 2-3 months after the resumption of their work, announced Prime Minister Kiryakos Mitsotakis.

The event, implemented by the Ministry of Development and Investment, is funded under the NSRF 2021-2027 program and concerns small and medium-sized companies and includes franchising companies for the first time.

The maximum amount of assistance is set at EUR 100,000 for VAT and is non-refundable.

“Today we are pleased to undertake another important event for the catering industry worth 330 million euros. Our goal is clear, because we must plan for the future: when business starts well, when conditions permit and always with the permission of our scientists, do it with maximum comfort in your first steps, supplied with raw materials for the first three months after opening, “said Mr. Mr. Mitsotakis.

“To get an idea of ​​the amount spent on the food service industry, let me point out that about 65,000 unique businesses out of approximately 77,000 businesses in the industry participated in one or more rounds of fundraising. The catering industry has received amounts approaching 1 billion euros. “Of the 410,000 workers in this sector, about 260,000 have been temporarily suspended from work, and the government has allocated 720 million in compensation in addition to their wages,” he said.

“I think this is the best evidence of the practical support provided by the government, especially in the catering sector, in order to get out of this great adventure with the covid as safe as possible. I believe that the focus has remained and I am confident that with the expansion of measures and the use of this new tool, it will be ready by the next day, ”he added. And he concluded: “I emphasize that today we are not ready to say when the restaurants will open. This will happen when epidemiological conditions permit. ”

The promotion is funded under the Operational Program Competitiveness-Entrepreneurship-Innovation (EPANEK) NSRF 2021-2027 and concerns companies, small, medium and large, that have a main KAD or KAD with the highest income as a restaurant business. Also included are franchise companies, subject to certain NSRF regulatory criteria.

The amount of assistance is 7% of the turnover of the main restaurant KAD or KAD with the highest revenue in 2019. For companies established in 2019 or 2020, the amount of assistance is determined as follows:

Criteria for participation in the promotion:

A) The decrease in annual turnover in 2020, compared to 2019, is greater than or equal to 30%.
B) For companies established in 2019, an equal number of trading days is calculated for a drop in turnover.
C) Created during 2020, they automatically take effect.
D) Business restaurants that were built in 2019 and started receiving revenue in 2020 are considered to have been created during 2020.
E) Foodservice companies that are required to submit periodic VAT returns.

Applications will be submitted to the Public Aid Information System (PSE) of the Ministry of Development and Investment at www.ependyseis.gr. The start of accepting applications will be determined after the approval of the status by the European Union, and applications will be accepted until July 31, 2021 in order to be able to activate the seasonal business.

Evaluation will be immediate and grant disbursements will occur as soon as the application is submitted and approved, while companies must use the grant until 12/31/2021. The audit will be based on periodic VAT returns and declared expenses.

Note:

A) The amount of assistance provided by the project must not exceed 70% of the sum of codes 361, 363 and 364 of the form of periodic VAT returns for 2021.
B) The amount of the amount to the public from this action, the amount of public funding under the business support actions affected by the COVID-19 pandemic of the NSRF regional operational programs, in the form of a grant, cannot exceed 100% of the amount specified in the Code. 367 forms of periodic VAT returns for 2021.

If either (A) or (B) is applied, the amount of government funding for that action will be charged as overpaid and reimbursed by the beneficiary.

In connection with its inclusion in the time frame of EU state aid as a measure against the pandemic, it will also be approved by the European Commission.
