Like many other participants, she wore an Arabic keffiyeh (“arafat”) headscarf. “Free Palestine,” Thunberg shouted with the others. The crowd also heard calls for an intifada and the slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” banned in Germany. The instigators are detained by the police. Similar anti-Israeli demonstrations are also taking place today in Frankfurt am Main, Essen, and Leipzig.
At the same time, throughout Germany, people are taking part in rallies of solidarity with Israel and in memory of the victims of October 7th.
