On Wednesday, October 2, Hamburg police closed two tracks at the central station. The reason was the suspicion that one of the passengers had the dangerous Marburg virus.
By message According to NDR, a German medical student flew from Rwanda to Frankfurt on Wednesday morning and then traveled by train to Hamburg. He called the health authorities and reported that he had been in contact with a person infected with the Marburg virus.
The man and his companion were taken to Eppendorf University Hospital in a special ambulance. It is not yet known whether they will have to quarantine. A fire brigade spokesman said the remaining passengers were not in danger.
