IDF reservist who helped wounded at Nova festival shoots dead assailant in Tel Aviv

An Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reservist who helped rescue the wounded at the musical Nova festival October 7 last year, was the one who shot one of the two terrorists yesterday during terrorist attack in Jaffanear Tel Aviv.

Lev Kraitman told the Ynet news site that shortly before the attack, he returned home to get a rifle and was in a local restaurant when he heard gunshots. He took out a weapon and went outside, immediately realizing that a terrorist attack was taking place.

Kreitman, he said, saw a man in an Israeli police cap who also pulled out a rifle, and they began to look for the criminals. Hearing more gunfire, he spotted the perpetrators at a tram stop in Jaffa, next to the bodies of several victims. At that moment, he sent a voice message to the group chat of his IDF friends, reporting what was happening and that he was going to take part in the operation.

After this, the terrorists split up, and one of them went to the place where Kreitman was with another policeman, who was in plain clothes. The IDF reservist managed to catch the terrorist by surprise, he fired and hit him. The attacker ran several meters and fell to the ground.

After this, Kreitman briefly took refuge in a nearby building, fearing that the second terrorist would appear again. After spending some time there, he returned to the scene of the attack to examine the wounded. One of them still had a pulse and was later given first aid by a doctor.
