The Central Macedonia region is reaching a new level by participating in tourism promotion activities in Tokyo.
Focusing on the rich cultural heritage, abundance of monuments and archaeological sites, as well as gastronomy and natural beauty, officials from the Central Macedonia region presented Japanese tourism professionals and journalists with variety of tourism opportunitiesthat the region offers.
The presentation took place within the framework of the “Seminar on Greek Tourism and Gastronomy”, organized exclusively for the region of Central Macedonia under the auspices of the Greek Embassy in Japan.
During the subsequent Tourism Expo Japan 2024, scheduled meetings with tourism industry professionals were held to present Central Macedonia's tourism product and the experiences that visitors can have. These meetings laid the foundation for creating conditions for new professional cooperationthe PKM noted in today’s statement.
“We entering the Japanese market for the first timeengaging in targeted promotions highlighting the comparative advantages of our region that suit the philosophy, profile and special interests of the Japanese visitor. Strengthening the recognition of the region is our goaland we are methodically working on this, stimulating the already strong Japanese interest in special types of tourism based on the multi-faceted tourism product for which the region is famous,” said Vicky Hatzivassiliou, the region’s Vice Governor for Tourism.
