Low Sugar Fruits


Experts have named fruits that are renowned for their low sugar content, making them an excellent choice for those seeking a healthy lifestyle.

Let's take a closer look at these wonderful fruits:

Plums contain 9 grams of sugar for every 100 grams of fruit. However, the recommended serving is only 30 grams, which is equivalent to 2.7 grams of sugar.

Strawberry is rightfully considered one of the lowest calorie fruits, although our parents and grandparents may still add sugar to it. 100 grams of strawberries contain only 4 grams of sugar, which is comparable to the sugar content of blueberries.

Blueberries/blueberries. The recommended daily intake of berries is 50 grams, which provides 4.5 grams of sugar.

Apricots. Apricots also contain a reasonable amount of sugar, equal to 9 grams per 100 grams, which is the same as the above-mentioned fruits. However, the daily value is usually 65 grams, which is equivalent to 5.85 grams of sugar per serving. If you are used to eating apricots in large quantities, it may be worth reducing your consumption a little.

Lemons don't need much introduction as they are typical sour fruits. If we do not add sugar to them, its content is only 2 grams per 100 grams of fruit.

Tangerines also contain 9 grams of sugar per 100 grams, or 6.3 grams in the recommended daily serving of 70 grams. If you are used to eating tangerines in large quantities, thinking that they are low in calories, you are probably wrong!

Actinidia. And another representative of our list is actinidia, which contains 9 grams of sugar. However, the recommended daily serving is 75 grams, which gives 6.75 grams of fructose per serving.

Melon contains 6 grams of sugar per 100 grams, but the recommended daily serving is 120 grams, which increases this to 7.2 grams per serving.

Watermelon. The recommended daily intake of watermelon is 100 grams, which contains 7 grams of sugar. If you're a fan of this summer fruit, you can enjoy a fairly large portion guilt-free.

The following fruits have a higher sugar content:

  • White grapes: 16 grams of sugar per 100 grams of fruit.

  • Figs: 13 grams of sugar per 100 grams of fruit.

  • Bananas: 15.6 grams of sugar per 100 grams of fruit.

  • Dates: 64.7 grams of sugar per 100 grams of fruit.
