Gypsy drug dealers have created an entire criminal network


Roma ethnic criminal gangs involved in various criminal activities, including drug trafficking, have decided to “unite” by creating “chains of stores.”

Most of the groups consisting of Roma have their roots in Western Attica. Zephyri and Menidi often become headquarters or storage facilities for weapons, drugs and members of these groups, spreading their activities throughout the country.A typical example of such an organization is Rhodes crime gangwhich had direct connections with Western Attica.

The leader of this organization, after six arrests in Attica for theft and robbery, was released. Instead of being punishedyes, he continued his criminal activitythis time engaging in drug trafficking and transferring his assets to Rhodes.

One of the leading members of the organization flew once a week from Rhodes to Athens, where he visited “supermarket” of drugs in Western Attica – camps in Menidi and Zephyri. He bought the required amount and handed it over to his accomplice, who returned to the island on the same plane. His accomplice carried out human trafficking from the liner.

From the beginning of July to September 11, 561 heroin deals were made for a total of 30,000 euros. They hid the black cash in their socks, burying the stashes in bushes located in the settlement on Rhodes. They also had radios tuned to the police frequency, which allowed them to listen in on conversations and avoid being caught red-handed.

The Ialyssos police station in Rhodes put an end to the organisation's activities 24 hours ago, arresting four people, although it was estimated that more than 50 people were involved.
