Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias has traveled to France, where today, September 19, the second Belharra frigate, the Niarchos, built at the Naval Group shipyards, will be launched.
At Mr. Dendias' gala event, reports CNN Greece, accompanied by GEEFA Commander General Dimitrios Hoopis and Chief of the General Staff Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Katharas PN.
It is an important day for the Hellenic Navy as the second of three FDI HN frigates (Kimon, Nearchos and Phormion), known as Belharra, is launched that will join the Hellenic Navy in the coming years.

The frigate Nearchos has a displacement of 4,500 tons, a length of about 122 meters, a maximum speed of 27 knots, a crew of 120 people and is equipped with advanced digital technologies.
These include the PSIM (Panoramic Sensor Reconnaissance Module) integrated sensor network, which houses almost all of the warship's sensor systems, the advanced CAPTAS-4 anti-submarine sonar, and the fully digital Sea Fire radar.
