The wedding in Pyrgos was almost cancelled – the bride was late and the priest left the church.

The confusion began shortly before the wedding, which was to take place in one of the churches of Pyrgos last Sunday, September 15.

According to ilialive, the bride arrived about 25 minutes late to the church, which angered the priest. He was so annoyed that he threatened to leave and that “the wedding would not take place.” No one believed that the priest would carry out his threat, but as soon as the bride arrived, he began to take off his vestments, shocking the wedding guests, and left the church.

Eventually, after the intervention of calmer and more reasonable people who were sent for the priest, he nevertheless returned to the church 25 minutes later (the same amount of time that the bride was late) and blessed the couple, binding them in holy matrimony.
