Ukraine: Five arsonists of military vehicles arrested for reward (video)

The Security Service of Ukraine reports the arrest of five arsonists of Ukrainian Armed Forces vehicles, next to which they left provocative leaflets, on orders from Russian special services.

During the investigation, evidence was found that the deliberate arson attacks were carried out on orders from Russian intelligence services for a reward that the perpetrators never received.

The main “targets” were SUVs and minibuses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, reported SBU press service, September 12. On the orders of their curators, the men set fire to five cars of Ukrainian defenders in three districts of the Ukrainian capital. The leaflets left nearby were aimed at discrediting the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Thus, the main goal of the “customers” was to destabilize the socio-political situation in Kyiv, passing off the arson attacks as paid for by the Russian Federation under the guise of “work” of the allegedly anti-Ukrainian underground.

The attackers acted in two groups of two people, and one more “worked” independently. They are residents of Sumy, Poltava and Nikolaev regions, they are from 21 to 29 years old. The men came to Kiev to earn money, in search of “easy money”. Representatives of the Russian special services contacted the young men in Telegram channels and offered cooperation. According to this instruction, the arrested defendants in the criminal case first found potential targets and sent photos for approval.

During the mission, they arrived at military vehicle parking lots, set them on fire with a flammable mixture, and recorded the fire on their own phone cameras for “reporting.” After that, according to the agreement, they hoped to receive a reward from their customers, but they never saw the promised money.

The criminals were detained (video) “on the trail” red-handed in different areas of Kyiv. Arson weapons, homemade anti-Ukrainian postcards and mobile phones were confiscated from them. The defendants were notified of suspicion and are in custody. The arsonists face up to eight years in prison.
