On the evening of August 23, the DI.AS emergency response team received a call about a person calling for help in the waters of Drapetsona.
Upon arrival, they found a man in the sea, at least 30 meters from the shore, near an overturned boat. As reported EL.AS. the police officers, ignoring the danger, dove into the sea, swam up to the man and found that his legs were entangled in fishing nets, preventing him from swimming. They immediately cut the bonds and pulled the victim to shore, where they gave him first aid. The policeman suffered a minor leg injury.
