Teenage gang steals items from Lutsa beach

In the midst of the heat, residents and visitors of Greece rush to the beaches and, leaving their belongings on the sand, dive into the sea waves with pleasure. Taking advantage of this, teenagers from 14 to 17 years old quickly stole bags and backpacks on the beach of Loutsa.

On August 15, ΔΙΑΣ officers arrested five members of a teenage gang immediately after stealing another backpack. As soon as they saw the police, they threw away the stolen items and tried to run away, but were stopped and taken to the Spata-Artemidos security department. Along the route of the chase, the items previously stolen from the victim were found, collected and returned to him.

The Spata-Artemida Security Department has opened a criminal case against the teenagers for creating a gang with the aim of committing thefts and resisting arrest.

The underage gang members, dressed in bathing suits, moved around the beach in the morning and afternoon hours, “taking” backpacks from mats while their owners were swimming. The security department has launched an investigation into a total of 31 cases of theft of bathers' belongings committed by the underage gang from early June to August 15 at Artemis Beach (Lutsa). Those arrested, reports CNN Greece, taken to the District Attorney of Athens.
