French newspapers Paris Match and AFP report the death of French-Swiss film and theater actor, screenwriter, film producer and director Alain Delon. Many consider him “the most handsome actor in the history of cinema” and a sex symbol of European cinema.
The media are not reporting details of the actor's death.

It is known that in 2019 he suffered a stroke and his health deteriorated. Delon often complained of headaches and was treated at the American hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine near Paris. When the celebrity's condition became critical, he was operated on at the Parisian clinic Pitié-Salpêtrière, and after some time the actor's health was monitored in the intensive care unit.

The actor was then transferred to a Swiss hospital. After his condition improved, he even attended the Cannes Film Festival, where the actor was awarded the Palme d'Or for his contribution to the development of cinema.
The artist was also diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and cancer. In March 2022, the media reported that the artist had decided to commit euthanasia. The public learned about this from the celebrity's son, Anthony, who admitted in an interview that he and his father had a frank conversation in which the latter voiced his plans.
In January 2024, the court limited Delon's legal capacity, prohibiting him from managing his property. In April, it became known that the court of the commune of Montargis in France had established a regime of enhanced guardianship for the actor. Delon's income and property were transferred to the custody of a guardian. However, the name of this person is classified. The 88-year-old artist came under the protection of the court back in January, the decision was related to Delon's health condition after a stroke.
Alain Delon died at his home in the French commune of Douchy “surrounded by his children and family.”
