Cruise ships Silversea Cruises and Marella Discovery in the port of Thessaloniki

Greece is celebrating the 49th port call of the TUI cruise ship Marella Discovery in Thessaloniki this year. The cruise ship is carrying British tourists who will stay in the city until midday.

 

It arrived in the city for the second time (previously it was on July 10). Marella Discovery is traveling with 1,929 passengers, most of whom, 1,850, are British. During their stay, tourists will have the opportunity to take part in a city tour and see the main attractions such as the White Tower, the statue of Alexander the Great, the Upper Town, the Archaeological Museum, the Roman Agora, etc., as well as take day trips to Vergina and Pella. Many also choose to explore the city on their own.

The cruise ship, which started its cruise from Marmaris, will remain in Thessaloniki until 19:00, then continue its journey to Volos, Smyrna, Patmos, Heraklion in Crete, returning to the Turkish coast.

It should be noted that Marella Discovery can accommodate up to 2,074 passengers and 760 crew members. It has 11 decks and 918 cabins spread over five decks. Its amenities include eight restaurants, seven bars, two swimming pools, a climbing wall, a mini golf course, etc.
