On August 2, the Greek company Aegean Airlines announced the suspension of flights to Israel and Lebanon. The reason is the emergency situation in the Middle East.
All AEGEAN flights to and from Israel suspended until August 6and all scheduled flights from/to Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport until August 8, 2024The airline's website posted a message, quotes CNN Greece:
“Due to recent events in the Middle East, we are cancelling all scheduled flights to/from Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv until 06/08/2024. Passengers with flights to/from Tel Aviv until 30/08/2024 can call (+30) 210 6261000 to change or cancel their tickets free of charge, or apply for a credit voucher or refund via aegeanair.com.
Due to heightened security measures, passengers traveling from Athens to Tel Aviv must visit the designated check-in counters in person at Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”, regardless of whether they have baggage to check in. Passengers flying from any other airport via Athens to Tel Aviv, if eligible to enter Greece, must obtain a boarding pass at the designated check-in counters.
If they are not allowed to enter Greece, they will receive a boarding pass at the transfer desk at Athens International Airport. In both cases, assistance is always available at the airport. Due to expected delays during boarding, we recommend that you be at the boarding gate as early as possible. Check-in desks close one hour before departure.
