Former Russian State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev was injured and hospitalized after a Russian drone crashed near his home on the outskirts of Kyiv.
According to the publication Oboz.ua, which cites sources, Ponomarev “received multiple shrapnel wounds on the night of August 1, but his life is not in danger.” The Shahed drone (Russian name “Geran-2”) exploded five meters from the front door of the politician's house, damaging the building.
The publication published a photo of Ilya Ponomarev with traces of blood on his face and chest. Ponomarev is now safe and protected.
The Kyiv regional administration reported that two people were injured and hospitalized as a result of the fall of drone debris shot down in the region by air defense forces. Two private homes in one of the region's populated areas were damaged. The roofs of the buildings were damaged, the facades were chipped, and windows and doors were knocked out.
