Drug cartel busted in Mykonos: They even had a price list

According to the Mykonos Police Sub-Directorate and the Special Operations Unit of the Attica Police Department, a criminal organization that was involved in smuggling large quantities of drugs in Mykonos has been dismantled.

In order to dismantle the criminal organization, the authorities carried out a coordinated joint police operation on Saturday morning, July 27, during which three Poles were identified. One of the ringleaders was arrested. A case was opened against the detainees on the creation of a criminal organization, drug trafficking and the weapons law.

The police received a complaint, according to which it became known that “an unknown person drives a SMART car through the streets of Mykonos and is engaged in the sale of narcotics, making deliveries. A price list was even issued for this purpose.”

During the preliminary investigation it became clear that the criminal organization operated with clearly defined functions and had a specific modus operandi:

• The 40-year-old man, who is the ringleader, coordinated the sale of illegal substances from the warehouse, carrying out the necessary communications with potential buyers through online applications regarding the details of the “order”, having for this purpose also a corresponding list of types of narcotic substances, while simultaneously collecting income from their sale,
• A 37-year-old man who is a core member of the organisation, was responsible for drug delivery and ensured the safe transfer of drugs (usually in public places),
• The 26-year-old girl, due to her work, became the reason for the legal presence of the other participants and at the same time carried out the duties of accompanying the main member of the organization in order to minimize the possibility of their detection by the authorities.

A characteristic feature of their ingenuity in order to achieve their goal safely was the creation of a box resembling a car part in which they hid the drugs, making it difficult to detect them in case of an inspection. In total, the following were found and confiscated as a result of the searches:

• a vehicle used by a key member of the organization to transport drugs
• 65,880 euros
• $17,166 USD
• 240 British pounds
• 43.22 grams of cocaine
• 8.61 grams of methamphetamine
• 212 grams of synthetic drug
• lots of pills
• ecstasy shavings of different colors
• an abundance of plastic capsules containing the drug MDMA.

Those arrested will be brought before the competent prosecutor.
