In Mykonos, a ship raised high waves, as a result of which two bathers were injured, and the belongings of people present on the beach were carried out to sea.
On Saturday afternoon, July 20th, at Agios Stefanos Beach in Mykonos chaos reigned. The ferry “FAST FERRIES ANDROS” raised such waves (video), that in a matter of seconds, the vacationers' belongings and sun loungers ended up in the sea, the coast guard reported. Two people were injured.
After the ship docked at the port of Rafina, the administration officials arrested the ferry captain for violating Article 291, paragraph 3, “Dangerous interference with the movement of vehicles, ships and aircraft” (Επικίνδυνες παρεμβάσεις στη συγκοινωνία μέσων σταθερής τροχιάς, πλοίων και αεροσκαφών) and Article 314, “Causing bodily harm through negligence”. The investigation is being conducted by the Mykonos Port Authority.
