Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, reported the identification of more than 30 thousand foreigners who recently became citizens of Russia, but were not registered with the military – about 10 thousand of them were sent to the front.
Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum on Thursday, he noted, quotes INTERFAX.RU edition:
“We have begun to implement the provisions of the constitution and our laws that persons who have received citizenship must register for military service and, if necessary, take part in a special military operation.”
He stated that investigators
or “more than 30 thousand (people) have already caught such people: those who have received citizenship, but do not want to register with the military, and have registered them”:
“Already about 10 thousand of them have been sent to the special military operation zone.”
