Princess Anne suffered minor injuries and a concussion following the incident yesterday at the Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire in southwest England, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace.
The 73-year-old sister of King Charles III was hospitalized for observation but is expected to make a full recovery.
“The King is keeping abreast of developments at all times and, together with the entire royal family, extends his warmest greetings and wishes for a speedy recovery to the Princess,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
British newspaper The Sun suggests that Princess Anne was injured in a horse accident. According to preliminary information, she was on a horse ride on the estate and it was after this that ambulance officers took her to hospital in Bristol. Buckingham Palace has not yet officially commented on this information.
