Hail and heavy rains in the Amyndeon area on Tuesday (5/28) caused extensive damage to agricultural land.
Farmers in the local communities of Manakiaki, Wegora and Antigonus reported that the hailstorm lasted for several minutes, but was enough to destroy their crops. The hail was followed by rain, which dealt a final blow to crops as some were flooded.
According to Amindeon Agricultural Association President Diamanto Critico, the hail has worsened the disaster caused by tree disease and affected the quality of peaches.
