PASOK filed a memorandum with the 1st Section of the Supreme Court regarding the attempt of the detained Ilias Kasidiaris to take part in the June 25 elections.
In its statement, PASOK follows the familiar style of “undermining democracy” and “neo-Nazi criminals.”
Charilaus Trikoupis’ statement: “PASOK – The Movement for Change, always at the forefront of the struggle for democracy and institutions, will not allow a criminal group, having undermined our democracy, to indulge in ridicule and humiliate its institutions through the ploy of uniting independent candidates whose only goal is to circumvent the relevant situation.”
“Protecting our constitutional order and democracy has been our main concern throughout this long journey. That is why in all their attempts, neo-Nazi criminals will find a structured and documented response from PASOK – the Movement for Change – against them,” the statement concludes.
Recall that on June 2, Elias Kasidiaris made a statement on the nomination of a coalition of independent candidates in the elections on June 25, about which he filed a corresponding application with the Supreme Court. With this step, he exploded the political situation, because before the exclusion of his party by the Supreme Court in the first elections on May 21, based on pre-election estimates, it had 5%, according to polls.
