A series of strong earthquakes of magnitude up to 5 on the Richter scale in the south of Evia on Tuesday caused concern among seismologistsaccording to them, the earthquake was the result of the appearance of a new, previously unknown fault in the earth’s crust.
Our edition earlier reportedthat at 22:06 on Tuesday, November 29, an earthquake of magnitude 5.3 occurred near the island of Evia, in the area of Zarakes. In the same area where in the morning there were 2 aftershocks of magnitude 4.7 and 4.2, as well as more than 50 aftershocks. It was felt by the inhabitants of Attica.
