The Ellinikon Park: fast-forward to "future"

Ellinikon Park will be the largest coastal park in Europe. The object is being created by Lamda Development on the site of the old airfield in Elliniko.

Odysseus Athanassiou, CEO of Lamda Development, announced on the SKY channel that citizens will have the opportunity to take their first walk along Elliniko at the beginning of 2023. “The entire coastal part and the shopping center, which is located in Vouliagmeni and adjacent to the Argiroupoli and Elliniko stations, the part covered by the park, plus sports facilities will be ready by 2025. We set an ambitious goal. However, already at the beginning of 2023 it will be possible to visit the park and enjoy the walk,” he added.

The fifth online presentation of the project concerns The Ellinikon Park, a territory that is intended for cultural recreation for families, citizens and visitors to the city.

The magnificent modern park with green spaces will stretch over two million square meters, which is fourteen times the size of the National Garden, and even more than London’s Hyde Park. in.gr.

Well, for now, only the “electronic version of the park” is available to us.

Recall, as the Athens News previously wrote, “City of Dreams” is being built on the site of the former Elliniko Airportthe first complex center of its kind, combining both business enterprises, hotels and hotels, as well as infrastructure for entertainment and cultural recreation (including a casino and a green park).

First 9 projects to be implemented

According to Lamda Development plans, the following projects will be launched:

1. Most of the municipal park with an area of ​​2,000,000 sq.m.
2. Athletic facilities.
3. Embankment.
4. The largest shopping center in Attica with 72,000 sq.m. of commercial space, which is 20% more than the shopping center in Marousi. The mall will be built in close proximity to the Elliniko metro station, on Vouliagmenis Avenue.
5. Office premises and a hotel will be located within walking distance from the shopping center, on the northern side of the Elliniko territory, near Vouliagmenis Avenue.
6. Gallery (Galleria) will be built near the marina in Agios Kosmas.
7. Two hotels in the coastal zone.
8. 800 houses of various types (apartments, mansions, etc.).
9. Skyscrapers about 200 meters high.
