An important clarification regarding the opening hours of grocery stores was made today by the General Secretariat for Trade and Consumer Protection of the Ministry of Development and Investment in a related statement.
In particular, the announcement recommends extended opening hours for businesses. This applies ONLY to supermarkets and NOT to other grocery stores such as convenience stores, bakeries, butchers, fish shops, pastry shops, etc.
In more detail: “The General Secretariat for Trade and Consumer Protection of the Ministry of Development and Investment informs consumers and companies that the opening hours specified in paragraphs. Δ1α / ΓΠ. οικ.26380 / 23-4-2021 Joint Ministerial Decision ΦΕΚ (Β1682) apply only to grocery supermarkets. The rest of the points of sale of food products specified in regulation 22, paragraph 1B, article 1 of the above ΚΥΑ are not subject to the decree. “
